Alebrije Turtle Rocking Chair
Acrylic paint, chicken wire, paper mache, wood
2023
This chair challenges the standard of rocking chairs, into something playful, bright, and for all ages. Why a turtle? Because turtles are usually small and slow, I wanted to play with a size scale between the user and the turtle. This chair is painted in an alebrije style because it also pushes the notion of what a turtle can look like and references my Mexican background.
